The Dying To Understand Mission

Who Are We?

Dying is difficult, but we believe we can do dying better. Dying To Understand is a not-for-profit charity that is dedicated to providing education, resources, support and advocacy about death and dying.

From funeral planning and bucket lists to estate planning and medical care, we provide both patients and their support system with all they need to make the most of their transition into death.

Offering a growing library of information, stories and resources, we aim to help people make informed decisions on their end-of-life journey. With our community we hope to connect you with others who are facing similar challenges.

Resources TO Help You Through Death and Dying

You Have The Power, Today

Research has shown that when it comes to dying, most people have no idea what to expect. This leaves them vulnerable; they make poor decisions and it ends up being costly for them and those they leave behind.

Planning for death can seem overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. There are things you can do to prepare for when the time arrives. In doing so, not only will it help release tension and ease stress but those around you may have more peace of mind as well!

At Dying To Understand, our purpose is to help you overcome the fear of death and dying. By providing ageing and death education, understanding and resources we aim to empower people to face death and make the most of their life. When it comes to dying, we can help you.

Surviving Death & Dying

It is never too early to prepare for the end of your life. With everything going on, it can be difficult to get your affairs in order, personal, medical and legal. However, having a plan will bring comfort and satisfaction – easing the stress and worry about what comes next.

Life is unpredictable and death is a part of life. While it cannot be prevented, we can help you make this journey easier so you and your loved ones can make the most of it.

It’s never too early to start planning. With our aim to provide education and resources, Dying To understand has developed a Death and Dying Guide that helps you understand death and provides you with all the basics that you need to know about being on this journey.

Discover Stories & A Community

Share. Read. Inspire.

We were never made to be alone. Experiences need to be shared and it is in this sharing that we grow and gain wisdom. Wisdom in more than knowledge. Shared experiences motivate us and help us to carry on. They are bright lights in the dark night.

Your knowledge is enriched by your experiences and wisdom gained from your triumphs and crushing defeats as well as your tales, jokes and humour throughout the course of your life and by it we become wiser, braver, and more caring.

Another human’s experience is another human’s truth, but there is an undeniable connection that can be made through shared experiences. Share your stories, read other experiences and allow yourself to feel connected.
